
Jamaica has claimed a number of top titles at World Travel Awards Grand Final.
The paradise island fended off tough opposition from across the world to win three coveted destination titles: World’s Leading Cruise Destination, World’s Leading Family Destination and World’s Leading Wedding Destination.
A delegation of Jamaica’s tourism leaders collected the honours at a special presentation at Expo 2020 Dubai, where they are currently promoting Jamaica’s tourism and hospitality economy.
Minister of tourism, Edmund Bartlett, was on hand to receive the trophy from Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, group chairman and chief executive, DP World, and chairman of the Ports, Customs & Free Zone Corporation.
With Jamaica’s tourism sector resurgent in 2021, the island emerged as number one is several hospitality accolades.
Fleming Villa @ GoldenEye was acknowledged as World’s Leading Luxury Hotel Villa.
Another icon of Jamaican luxury hospitality, Montego Bay’s iconic Round Hill Hotel & Villas was named World’s Leading Villa Resort.
The relentless quest to innovate helped Sandals lift the title for World’s Leading All-Inclusive Company, with Beaches Resorts voted World’s Leading All-Inclusive Family Resort Brand.
Island Routes Caribbean Adventures claimed World’s Leading Caribbean Attraction Company.
The results follow a year-long search for the world’s top travel, tourism and hospitality brands.

Votes were cast by travel industry professionals and the public, with the nominee gaining the most votes in a category named as the winner.

The latest victories come following a number of regional successes for the Caribbean island at the World Travel Awards earlier in the year.
Winners included Montego Bay’s newest hospitality offering, Eclipse at Half Moon, voted Caribbean’s Leading New Hotel; Sangster International Airport won Caribbean’s Leading Airport; and Montego Bay Convention Centre claimed Caribbean’s Leading Meetings & Conference Centre.
